Vijay Kumar

Vijay Kumar is a prominent Indian shooter who was born on 19^th August 1985 in Himachal Pradesh. He predominantly participates in 25m rapid fire pistol events and has added many feathers in his cap till now.

A glimpse at some of his achievements:-

• In the Commonwealth Games of the year 2006, he won 2 gold medals- one individually in 25-meter rapid fire pistol and other in a pair.
• In the same year, he received the Arjuna Award for his dynamic performance in pistol shooting.
• Vijay gave a phenomenal performance at the ISSF World Cup 2009 and 2011 in Rapid Fire Pistol Event, securing a silver medal in each event.
• In the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won 3 gold medals in the 25-meter rapid fire pistol pair, singles and centre fire pairs and won a silver medal in the 25-meter centre fire pistol singles event.
• Vijay bagged a silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012 in 25 m rapid fire pistol.
• In 2012, he received the highest sporting honor of India "Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award."
• The government of India honored Vijay with Padma Shri Award in 2013 for his sincere efforts in shooting sports.
• In the 2014 Asian Games, he bagged a silver medal in the 25-meter centre fire pistol team event.
