Vinesh Phogat

Born on 25^th August 1994, Vinesh Phogat is an Indian professional wrestler who is a niece of Dronacharya Awardee, Mahavir Singh Phogat. In her successful wrestling career, Vinesh has achieved many accolades. 

Some of them are listed below:-

• Silver medalist in Commonwealth wrestling championship held in Johannesburg in 2013.
• Bronze Medalist in Asian Games held in Incheon, 2014 in freestyle 48 Kg.
• Gold Medalist in women’s freestyle 48 Kg category in Commonwealth Games which were held in Glasgow in 2014.
• In the Asian Championship of 2015, Vinesh bagged a silver medal for India.
• Bronze medalist in Asian Wrestling Championship held at Bangkok in 2016.
• In Rio Olympics 2016, she reached the quarterfinals.
• Silver medalist at the Asian Wrestling Championships in 50 kg category, held in Bishkek in 2018. The same year, Vinesh bagged a gold medal in 50 kg category at the Commonwealth Games.
• ​Bagged a gold medal in 50 kg category at the 2018 Asian Games, held in Jakarta.
• Secured a bronze medal in 53 kg category at the 2019 World Championships.
• Finished the 2019 Asian Championships by winning a bronze medal in 53 kg category.
• Clinched a bronze medal in 53 kg category at the 2020 Asian Championships.
