Varghese Johnson

Varghese Johnson was born on 28th April 1982. He is an Indian amateur boxer who predominantly patitcipates in the Super Heavyweight (+91 kg) division.

His Achievements:-

• Won the bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth games losing to David Price, who arose from three knockdowns to stop Johnson, held in Melbourne
• Also, won the bronze medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Super Heavyweight against Kazakhstan’s Mukhtarkhan Dildabekov, held at Aspire Hall 5 in Doha, Qatar
• Received the very prestigious Arjuna Award in 2008
