Sanjeev Rajput

Born on 5th January 1981, in Haryana, Sanjeev Rajput is a prominent Indian shooter who has led the sport in India to new heights by winning numerous international accolades. He started his shooting career in 2004 and predominantly participates in 50m rifle events. 

A brief account of his achievements as a shooter:-

• Made an astounding debut in 2004 by winning 3 gold and a silver medal at the SAF Games
• Won bronze medals in the 50m rifle prone singles event at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, held in Melbourne and at the Asian Games, held in Doha
• In 2010, he secured silver medals in 10m air rifle event of the ISSF World Cup, held in Sydney and Asian Games that took place in Guangzhou
• For his sincere efforts in shooting sports, the Government of India has honoured him with the "Arjuna Award"
• Bagged a gold medal in 50m Rifle 3 Positions event of the ISSF World Cup, held in Changwon in 2011
• Won a bronze medal in 10m Air Rifle Team event at the 2014 Asian Games, held in Incheon and a silver medal in Men's 50 m rifle; 3 positions event of Commonwealth Games, held in Glasgow
• In 2016, Sanjeev again participated in the ISSF World Cup which was conducted in Baku and clinched a silver medal in 50m air rifle 3 positions event.
• In 2017, Sanjeev competed in the 50m rifle 3 positions event of the Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championship and earned a silver medal
• At the Commonwealth Games of 2018, held in Gold Coast, Australia, Sanjeev bagged a gold medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions
