Limba Ram

Born on 30th January 1972 in Rajasthan, Limba Ram is a former archer of India who has added numerous medals in the Indian tally and trained many of the aspiring archers to go for glories. He is amongst the prominent Indian archers who have given the best archery performances at various international events and has represented India at three Olympics.

Here are some of his career achievements:-

• Bagged a gold and a silver medal in the team and individual events, respectively, at the Archery Asian Cup 1989, held in Beijing
• Won a gold medal at the Asian Archery Championship 1992, held in Beijing and equalled the world record of that time by scoring 357/360 in the 30m event
• Bagged a gold and a silver medal in the team and individual events, respectively, at the Commonwealth Archery Championship 1995, held in New Delhi
• Aided the team of India to finish fourth at the Asian Games of 1990
• Bestowed with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 1991
• Participated in three Olympic Games and narrowly missed the bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics 
• Appointed as the Chief Archery Coach of Rajasthan in 2007
• Appointed as the National Archery Coach for the Commonwealth Games 2010. Under his tutelage, the national archers bagged 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals at the Games
• Honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011 by the Calcutta Sports Journalist Club
• Honoured with the Padma Shri in 2012 for his unforgettable contribution to the Indian archery
