Hima Das (Dhing Express) is an Indian sprinter born on 9th January 2000, who has scripted history with her super-sonic performance at the IAAF World Under-20 Athletics Championships. She is the first Indian woman to clinch gold at the event. Hima is the daughter of Ronjit Das, a farmer by profession in Assam & she is the youngest of 5 siblings. This young Assam girl started her journey from a small town, Dhing, and now she has proved that your perseverance leads you towards glory. Initially, Das used to play football, but her school teacher suggested switching to an individual sport which led her to go for the sprint. Her dream is to make the nation proud, which she is undoubtedly living. Recently, in 2021 she was appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Assam Police.
