Dipa Karmakar

Born on 9^th August 1993, Dipa Karmakar is one of the most successful female gymnasts of India.

Here are a few of her greatest achievements:-

• Dipa is the first Indian female Gymnast to represent India in the Olympics.
• 2011- In National Games of India, she won gold in every gymnastic category she appeared.
• 2014- She became the third woman to land the Produnova vault in gymnastic history at the Commonwealth Games.
• 2015- Won Bronze medal in Asian Gymnastics Championship.
• 2016- Secured 4th position in Vault Gymnastics at Rio Olympics and scored 15.066 overall.
• 2016- Conferred with Khel-Ratna Award by the Indian Government.
• 2017- Bestowed with the Padam Shri Award - the fourth highest Indian national honour.
• 2018- Bagged a gold medal at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup and a bronze medal at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup.
• Dipa has won more than 77 medals (among which 67 are Gold medals) in the state level, national and international championships.
