Deepika Kumari

Born on 13^th June 1994, Deepika Kumari is a young and auspicious athlete from India, performing marvellously in newfangled Archery Events.

Here is a short description of her success story:-

• Deepika is another Indian behind Palton Hansda to conquest in the Archery World Cup competition held in 2006.
• She won a gold medal for India at the Commonwealth Games in the year 2010 in the Women’s Individual Recurve event.
• She qualified for the Summer Olympics 2012 which was held in London. There, she contended in Women’s team events and reserved 8th position for herself.
• The President of India in 2012, Pranab Mukherjee, honoured Deepika by endowing her Arjuna Award.
• FICCI exalted her by selecting her as the "Sportsperson of the Year" in 2014.
• For her excellent performance in the world of archery, Deepika was awarded the fourth highest civilian award of India "Padma Shri” 2016.
• Currently, she is ranked at No. 9 and is a former world number one in the World Archery Ranking.
• In the first stage of the 2016 Archery World Cup, She bagged the silver medal and equaled Ki-Bo-Bae's world record (686/720) in the Women's Recurve event in Shanghai.
• Won a gold medal in an individual event at 2018 World Cup at Salt Lake City.
• In 2019, she secured two bronze medals in mixed team and team events at Asian Archery Championships, held in Bangkok.
