Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the most influential cricketers of India and outstanding batsmen of the world who is recently captaining the Indian team for Test events and limited over matches. Besides this, he is also the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2013 till date in the Indian Premier League.

A brief account of his major achievements is given here:-

• 2018- Received Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award by the Government of India
• 2017- Entitled as the ICC Cricketer of the Year, ICC ODI Player of the Year and Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World. The same year, he received the prestigious Padma Shri award by the Government of India
• 2016- Virat became the first batsman who acceded to the batting average of more than 50 in the International Test cricket against England's team during their tour of India. He was also selected as the captain of the "ICC ODI Team of the Year".
• 2014- Kohli reached the top spot of the ICC T20 batsman ranking and was honoured with the award of BCCI's International Cricketer of the Year.
• 2013- He scored his first Test century with 107 runs when Australian cricket team toured India. In the ODI Tournament of ICC Champions Trophy; he gave an eye-catching performance, earning 144 runs for India against Sri Lanka in the warm-up match. Kohli received the prestigious "Arjuna Award" by the Indian Government for his distinguished performance in International cricket.
• 2012- Kohli has bestowed with the title of ICC ODI Player of the Year and holds the record of securing most ODI runs as well as Test runs scored by an Indian cricketer in the year.
• 2011- He played a vital role in winning the World Cup and received the prestigious award of Polly Umrigar being the International Cricketer of the Year.
