Tao Li

Born on 10th January 1990, Tao Li is a competitive swimmer from Singapore, specialized in backstroke and butterfly styles. She is the only female Singaporean who has qualified for the Olympics finals and the first female swimmer from Singapore to reach the FINA World Aquatics Championships of 2007 where she secured seventh place in 50 m butterfly stroke event.

 A brief account of her significant achievements:-

• Bagged four gold medals and one bronze medal at the Southeast Asian Games of 2005, held in Manila
• Won one gold medal and one bronze medal at the Asian Games of 2006, held in Doha
• Clinched four gold medals and one silver medal at the Southeast Asian Games of 2007, held in Nakhon Ratchasima
• Won three gold medals at 2008 FINA Swimming World Cup, held in Singapore, Stockholm, and Berlin
• Clinched two medals (gold and silver) at the Asian Games of 2010, held in Guangzhou
• Bagged two medals (silver and bronze) at the Asian Championships of 2012, held in Dubai.
