Shivpal Singh

Shivpal Singh is an Indian Javelin thrower who recently qualifies for the Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 85.47m at the ACNW League Meeting in South Africa. He is best known for winning a gold medal at the 2019 Military World Games. He is India’s second-best Javelin thrower after Neeraj Chopra who currently holds the National record.

Some of his major career achievements -

• Winner of the men’s javelin throw event at the 2016 Budapest Open Athletics, held in Hungary.
• Finished 8^th at the 2018 Asian Games, as he could manage only one of his 3 throws due to an elbow injury.
• Bagged a silver medal with his personal best throw of 86.23m at the 2019 Asian Athletics Championships.
• Won the gold medal at the 2019 World Military Games, held in Wuhan, China.
• Qualified for the Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 85.47m at the ACNW League Meeting in South Africa.
