Seema Punia

Seema Punia Antil popularly known as 'Millennium Child’, is an Indian discus thrower who was born on 27^th July 1983 in Haryana. She initiated her athletic career as a hurdler and long jumper but later decided to go with discus throw.  

Her Achievements:-

• Seema won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in 2002.
• She bagged a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2006 after which she was honoured with the "Bhim Award" by Haryana Government.
• Seema won a bronze medal in Commonwealth Games, 2010.
• At the London Olympics in 2012, she secured the 13th place.
• She earned a gold medal at the Asian Games, 2014.
• She secured a silver medal in the discus throw event at 2014 Commonwealth Games, held in Glasgow.
• Spotted 20th position in the discus throw event of Rio Olympics 2016.
• She bagged a silver medal in the discus throw event at 2018 Commonwealth Games, held in Goldcoast.
• She clinched a bronze medal in the discus throw event at 2018 Asian Games, held in Jakarta.
