Saurav Ghosal

Born on 10th August 1986, Saurav Ghosal is a professional Indian Squash player who has reached on his career-high world ranking of World No. 10 in April 2019. He is one of the most dynamic squash players with various achievements.

Some of his achievements are:-​

• In 2004, Saurav won the British Junior Open and became the first Indian who won this title.

• At the 2006 National Championship in Delhi, he defeated Gaurav Nandrajog and became the "Indian National Champion".

• Saurav was honoured with the Arjuna Award in 2007 by the Government of India after winning a bronze medal at the 2006 Asian Games.

• Bagged two bronze medals in the men's singles and team event at the 2010 Asian Games, held in Guangzhou, China.

• He became the first Indian to reach the quarter-finals of the World Squash Championship in 2013 at Manchester, England.

• Clinched a gold medal in the team event and a silver medal in the singles event at the 2014 Asian Games, held in Incheon, South Korea.

• Won a bronze medal in the singles event at the 2016 South Asian Games.

• Saurav bagged a silver medal in the mixed doubles event at the Commonwealth Games of 2018.
• Secured two bronze medals in the singles and team event at the 2018 Asian Games, held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
• Became the champion by winning a gold medal at the 2019 Asian Individual Championships.
