Sarita Gayakwad

Sarita Gayakwad, born on June 1, 1994, in the Indian state of Gujarat, is a distinguished athlete celebrated for her achievements in track and field. Specializing in the 400 meters and 400 meters hurdles events, Gayakwad has left an indelible mark in Indian sports history. Her crowning moment came at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where she clinched a bronze medal in the women's 400 meters hurdles, showcasing her exceptional talent and perseverance. Some of her career achievements:

• In 2018, Sarita got selected in the Indian women's 4 × 400 metres relay team and thus became the first athlete from Gujarat to be chosen for the Commonwealth Games. Sarita, along with her team; spotted the seventh position in the final event with timing of 3:33.61min.
• The same year, Sarita along with M. R. Poovamma, Hima Das and V. K. Vismaya competed in the Women's 4×400 m relay of the Asian Games and bagged a gold medal for the nation clocking 3:28.72.
• Bagged a silver and a bronze medal at the 2019 Asian Athletics Championships in the Women’s 4x400m relay and 400m hurdles events
