Born on 3rd September 1982, in Kharman, Haryana, Ravinder Singh Sangwan is one of the best Indian Greco-Roman wrestlers. He has won 15 national championships in his sport and has achieved numerous accolades in his professional wrestling career.

- Clinched a gold medal at the 2003 Senior International Wrestling Tournament
- Claimed a gold medal at the 2005 Senior Centenary Cup
- Ravinder has won three gold medals in 2005, 2007 and 2009 and a silver medal in 2011 at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in the 60 Kg Greco-Roman category
- Honoured with the Rajiv Gandhi Sports Award for being the Best Sportsperson of the year 2005-06
- Won a bronze medal at the 2009 Senior Grand Prix Wrestling Tournament and a silver medal at the 2009 International Wrestling Tournament
- Bagged a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and a bronze at the 2010 Senior Asian Championship
- At the Asian Games of 2010, he bagged a bronze medal in 60-Kg Greco-Roman category
- Ravinder was honoured with the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2011 for his astounding performance in wrestling
- He has also given a perceptible appearance in the World Wrestling Championship of 2013 which was held in Hungary
