Born on 3rd July 1996 in Vijayawada city of Andhra Pradesh; Jyothi Surekha Vennam is a new face in the Indian archery. She has bagged numerous national as well as international medals in various events.
A glimpse of her career achievements:
- Set a Limca Book Record at the age of 4 by crossing the Krishna River three times, covering a distance of 5 km in 3:20:06
- Won an Olympic round gold medal at the Mexican Grand Prix in 2009
- Won two bronze medals at the World Youth Archery Championships of 2013 in Compound Jr. women team and compound Jr. mixed team events
- In 2017, she was bestowed with the Arjuna Award by the Government of India for her astounding performance in archery.
- Clinched a silver medal in 2017 and two bronze medals in 2019 World Archery Championships in Compound team and Compound individual events
- Bagged two bronze, three silver and three gold medals at the Asian Archery Championships in between 2011 and 2019 in various events.
