Babita Kumari

Babita Kumari was born on 20th November 1989, in Haryana. She is an Indian wrestler and sibling of Geeta Phogat who brought India's first gold medal in female wrestling at the Commonwealth Games. Like her sister, Babita too got trained initially under the guidance of her father and national level wrestling champion Mahavir Singh Phogat.

Her Achievements:-

• Babita bagged a gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship which was held in Jalandhar in the year 2009.
• Secured a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games of 2010 that took place in Delhi
• Conquered a gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship of 2011, held in Melbourne
• Bagged a bronze medal at the 2012 World Wrestling Championships, held in Strathcona County. The same year, she secured a bronze medal at the Dave Schultz Memorial Tournament that convened in Colorado, USA.
• Earned a bronze medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships of 2013 that took place in Delhi
• She won a gold medal in the 55 kg wrestling category at the Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow and a silver medal at the Dave Schultz Memorial Tournament which was held in Colorado, USA.
• In 2016, Babita represented the nation at the Rio Olympics along with her cousin Vinesh Phogat.
• Bagged a silver medal in 53 kg category at the Commonwealth Games of 2018, held in Gold Coast, Australia.
