On 4th January 1993, Jaipur, India, the Chandela Rajput family got blessed with the future shooting star of India, Apurvi. She is an Indian sports shooter who competes in the 10-meter air rifle event. Rifle shooting was never really a plan for her when she went to a local shooting range in Jaipur. She was not comfortable with a pistol, so took a rifle and ended up firing ten full. Following the philosophy of her father, Apurvi has jumped from one milestone to another, with much focus and hard work, in recent years. She began bagging awards and won bronze in a statewide competition. She is the second Indian to win a gold medal at ISSF after Anjali Bhagwat. She won several gold medals at the 2019 ISSF World Cup in New Delhi, Munich and Rio de Janeiro (10 m air rifle).
