Born on 27th February 1986, Sandeep Singh is a professional Indian hockey player and a former captain of the Indian hockey team. He predominantly plays at the full back position.
Here are some of his career achievements:
- Earned a bronze medal along with the Indian team at the 2007 Men’s Hockey Champions Challenge, held in Belgium
- Captained the Indian team that won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup that took place in Ipoh and had been entitled as “Man of the Tournament"
- Silver medal at the Commonwealth Games of 2010, held in New Delhi
- Helped India win the 2012 Summer Olympics qualifiers against the host Malaysia, and went on to become the highest scorer of that Olympic tournament
- Received the “Arjuna Award” by the Government of India for his contribution to the sports in 2010
