Tatyana Vasilyevna Kazankina is a Soviet/ Russian former runner. She was born on 17th December 1951 in Petrovsk, Russia.
Her achievements:-
In the year 1976, Tatyana was awarded the "Order of the Red Banner of Labour".
In the same year (1976), she was honored with the title Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR.
Won gold medals in both 800m and 1500m events at the 1976 Summer Olympics, held in Montreal
Established a record, just a month before 1976 Olympics Games by being the first woman to finish 1500m in less than 4 minutes, finishing metric mile in 3:56.0
In the year 1980, she set a new world record in 1500m event clocking 3:52.47 which stood as a world record for 13 years and still remains European record.
She won a gold medal at the Summer Olympics, held in Moscow, in the year 1980.
Won a bronze medal in 3000 m event at the World Championships held in Helsinki, Finland, in the year 1983
