Born on 8th May 1965 in Thodupuzha, Kerala, Shiny Kurisingal Abraham-Wilson is a retired Indian track and field athlete. A national champion for 14 years in 800m, she is the first athlete who took part in six Asian Track & Field meets consecutively after 1985 in Jakarta. During this time frame, she has won numerous medals at the Asian and SAF (South Asian Federation) tournaments and is the first Indian female athlete to reach the semi-finals in women’s 800m event at the Olympics. She is currently the selector of the Indian team and government nominee for selection committee board and is employed with FCI Chennai as a General Manager (Sports).
