Shane Robert Watson is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler and is the first Australian to score an international century in all three formats of the game. Watson is an occasional captain in all formats, having played for Australia's national cricket team and currently playing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. He made his debut against South Africa on 24 March 2002 and announced his retirement on 24 March 2016. However, he continues to play in the various franchise-based T20 leagues worldwide. He was the last player to retire from Australia's golden period of the early 2000s. He holds several records in T20I, ODI and T20. According to Forbes, Watson was the highest-paid non-Indian cricketer in the world for five consecutive years from 2011 to 2015.
