Born on 15th April 1982 in Delhi, Rakesh Kumar is a professional Indian Kabaddi player and former vice–captain of the Indian Men’s National Kabaddi team.
His Achievements:-
- Gave a crucial contribution to the team in winning a gold medal at the 2004 Kabaddi World Cup, held in Mumbai
- Played a significant role in India’s gold medal feat at the 2006 Asian Games, held in Doha
- Led the team as the vice-captain for the Indian team that won the gold medal at the 2007 Kabaddi World Cup, held in Panvel
- In 2011, he was bestowed with the prestigious “Arjuna Award” by the Government of India
- Instrumental in India’s gold medal victory at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games, held in Guangzhou and Incheon respectively
