Noureddine Morceli

Noureddine Morceli is a former athlete of Algeria, much-publicised for his world records in mile-run, 1500 m and 3000 m. At present, he is contributing his efforts in the development of young track and field athletes of Algeria.

Here are some of his career achievements:

• Gold medal at the Olympics of 1996, held in Atlanta
• Three gold medals each at the World Championships of the year 1991, 1993 and 1995, held in Tokyo, Stuttgart and Gothenburg, respectively
• Gold medal in the World Indoor Championships, held in Seville in 1991
• Gold medal at the Mediterranean Games of 1993, convened in Narbonne
