Namita Toppo

Namita Toppo, born on June 4, 1995, in Odisha, India, is a field hockey star recognized for her exceptional skills and leadership on the field. Emerging from a humble background, Toppo's determination and passion for the sport propelled her to national and international acclaim. As a midfielder, she showcased remarkable agility, vision, and versatility, becoming a crucial asset for the Indian women's hockey team. Achievements:

• Made her state debut in 2007 and with her excellent performance earned a place in the U-18 national squad to compete at the Asia Cup where she aided the team to earn a bronze medal
• Was part of the senior national team that competed in the FIH Champions Challenge in 2012
• Played hard at the Women`s Junior Hockey World Cup in 2013 and earned a bronze along with the team
• Felicitated with the Asuntra Lakra Award in 2014 by Hockey India
• Earned a bronze medal at the 17th Asian Games along with the team in 2014.
• Namita was also a part of the national squad that represented the nation in the Olympics after a span of 36 years.
