Manika Batra

Manika Batra, born on June 15, 1995, in Delhi, India, is a shining star in the realm of table tennis. Heralded as one of India's finest paddlers, Batra's journey to success began at a young age when she first picked up a paddle. Her breakthrough came in 2018 at the Commonwealth Games, where she clinched historic gold medals in women's singles, doubles, and team events. Batra's remarkable achievements continued with a stunning performance at the 2018 Asian Games, where she bagged multiple medals. With her skillful play and unwavering determination, Batra continues to inspire a generation of aspiring table tennis players.

Her Achievements-

• Bagged a silver medal at the Chile Open of 2011 in the under-21 category
• Showed her exuberance and aplomb through her power-pack performance at the Asian Games as well as the Commonwealth Games of 2014 where she finished being the quarterfinalist
• At the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship 2015, Batra bagged silver medals in women’s team event, women’s double event (along with Ankita Das) and a bronze medal in women’s singles.
• At the South Asian Games of 2016, Batra showed flashes of brilliance by clinching a gold medal in women’s doubles, mixed doubles and the women’s team event.
• Manika became the only Indian to receive "The Breakthrough Star Award" by ITTF on 12 December 2018.
• She became 1st Indian female table tennis player to win an individual gold medal in CWG 2018, where she won two gold medals in women’s team and women’s singles, a silver in women’s doubles and a bronze in the mixed doubles category.
• Clinched a bronze medal in mixed doubles category at the 2018 Asian Games, held in Jakarta
• As of February 2020, she ranked 67th in the world and top-ranked women table tennis player in India.
