Jack William Nicklaus

Born on 21st January 1940, Jack William Nicklaus is a former American golfer, popularly known as the 'Golden Bear'. He is one of the most successful golfers of all times and has dominated a total of 18 major championships.

Here is a glimpse of some of his major achievements:-

• The first living person to appear on a British banknote of five pounds which was issued by the Royal Bank of Scotland
• Holds the record for winning the most number of Masters Tournament (6) and The Players  Championships (3)
• Became one of the Global Ambassador ( Annika Sörenstam being another) of the International Golf Federation in 2008
• Recipient of "PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2008
• “Payne Stewart Award" in 2000
• Honored with "Bob Jones Award" in 1975
• Jack's name was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974 and in Canadian Golf hall of Fame in 1995.
