Annika Sörenstam is a retired professional golfer from Sweden who was born on 9th October 1970. She is regarded as one of the most successful female golfers in the history of the sport.

Her achievements:-

• In 2003, Sörenstam played at the Bank of America Colonial tournament, held in Texas and made history being the first woman to play in a PGA Tour event since 1945.
• Sorenstam competed astoundingly in World Amateur Golf Team Championships of 1990 and 1992 which were held in New Zealand and British Columbia.
• She became World Amateur Champion in 1992 in the event held at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland.
• Sorenstam came to prominence in 1995, when she won her first LPGA Tour title at the U.S. Women's Open, held in Southampton, New York.
• She won the title of "America Female Player of the Year" seven times in the years 1995, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005.
• She was honoured as the "Swedish Golfer of the Year" nine times in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005.
• Conferred with LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Crowne Plaza Achievement Award in the year 2001.
• Won the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) "Best Female Athlete" for the years 2005 and 2006.
