Born on 13th October 1982, Ian James Thorpe is an Australian Swimmer, specialized in freestyle stroke. He was one of the top swimmers of the Sydney Olympics.

- Earned three gold and two silver medals at the Olympic Games of 2000, held in Sydney. The same year, he was entitled as the "Young Australian of the Year".
- Bagged six gold medals at the FINA World Aquatics Championships of 2001, held in Fukuoka.

- Earned 11 Gold medals through his astounding performance at the World Championships, held in between 1998-2003.
