Born on 25th October 1995, in Punjab; Gurjit Kaur is an Indian field hockey player who plays in the national squad as a defender and drag-flicker. She is born into a farmers' family who got placed in the Indian Railways as a junior clerk after completing her schooling. She began her national career after being selected for the Senior National Camp in 2014.
Achievements:
- Played in the Test series in Canada, Hockey World League Round 2 as well as the semifinals in 2017
- Played a significant role in the team at the 2017 Asia Cup where the team emerged as the continental champion
- Gave an eye-catching performance at the Commonwealth Games of 2018 with two penalty corner conversion goals in the second pool A match that concluded the team to win the match by 4-1 against Malaysia
- Member of the national squad that competed at the Hockey World Cup of 2018
- She was a member of the silver medal-winning team at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.
