Giorgio Lamberti

Born on 28th January 1969, Giorgio Lamberti is former professional Italian swimmer. He is one of the most successful Italian swimmers who have won many accolades throughout their career.

Here are some of his career achievements:-

• The only Italian swimmer to hold a world record both in long course and short course events
• Holds a world record in short course; 400 m Freestyle that he established in 1988
• Gold Medalist in 100 m, 200 m and 400 m freestyle events at the Mediterranean Games of 1987
• Gold Medalist in 100 m, 200 m and 4x200 m freestyle events at the European Aquatics Championships of 1989
• Gold Medalist in 200 m freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships of 1991
• Lamberti's name was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 2004
