Dingko Singh

Born on 1st January 1979 in Manipur, Dingko Singh was a professional boxer from India who was regarded as one of the most prominent boxers of the country. Dingko credited a gold medal for India at the Bangkok Asian Games of the year 1998.

His Achievements:-

• Won the Sub-Junior National Boxing Championship in the year 1989 which was held at Ambala, when he was just 10 years of age
• Made a successful debut in International boxing winning King’s Cup, which convened in Bangkok in 1997
• Entitled as the "Best Boxer" of 1997 King’s Cup meet
• Bagged the gold medal in Bantamweight division at the Asian Games of 1998, held in Bangkok
• Honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 1998
• Commemorated with an Indian Civilian Award "Padma Shri" in 2013
