Deepak Thakur

Deepak Thakur Sonkhla, also known as Deepak Thakur, was born on 28th December 1980 in Punjab. He is a forward player of the Indian Men’s National Hockey team.

His Achievements:-

• Won the "Player of the Tournament" award at the 1998 Surjeet Memorial Hockey Tournament, held in Jalandhar
• Proved instrumental in India’s gold medal win at the 2001 Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup, held in Hobart
• Played an important role in the team in winning a silver medal for India at the 2002 Asian Games, held in Busan
• Gave his crucial contribution in winning a gold medal at the 2003 Afro-Asian Games, held in Hyderabad
• Awarded the prestigious "Arjuna Award" in 2004 by the Government of India.
