Clara Hughes

Clara Hughes is a Canadian speed-skater as well as a prominent cyclist. She was born on 27th September 1972. She has won many Olympic medals in both sports.

Her achievements:-

• Bagged a silver medal in Time Trial the World Championships of 1995, held in Tunja.
• Won two bronze medals at the Summer Olympics of 1996, held in Atlanta in Road Race and Time Trial.
• Earned a gold medal in Time Trial at the Commonwealth Games of 2002, held in Manchester.
• Won silver in a Team Pursuit and gold in 5000m event at the Winter Olympics of 2006, held in Turin, Italy.
• Bestowed with the "Order of Manitoba" in the year 2006.
• Became the "Member of the Order of Canada" in the year 2007.
• Inducted into the Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
• Roped in two gold medals at the 2011 Pan American Road and Track Championships held in Medellin.
