Suraj Lata Devi

Born 3rd January 1981, in Manipur, Suraj Lata Devi is the former Indian Field hockey player who led the national women's hockey team as a captain for a notable span and earned numerous accolades for the country along with the team.

Her Achievements:

• Played significantly with the team and secured the 2nd position at the 1998 Asian Games, held in Bangkok
• Earned a bronze medal at the 2002 Women’s Champions Challenge, held in Johannesburg
• Played a vital role in winning the gold medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, held in Manchester
• Captained the Indian national team that won the Senior Nationals in 2003, held in Lucknow
• Earned a gold medal with the team at the 2003 Afro-Asian Games held in Hyderabad
• Gave an instrumental performance in winning a gold medal at the 2004 Asia Cup, held in New Delhi.
