Babita Kumari was born on 20th November 1989, in Haryana. She is an Indian wrestler and sibling of Geeta Phogat who brought India's first gold medal in female wrestling at the CommonwealthGames. Like her sister, Babita too got trained initially under the guidance of her father and national level wrestling champion Mahavir Singh Phogat.
Babita bagged a goldmedal at the CommonwealthWrestlingChampionship which was held in Jalandhar in the year 2009.
Secured a silvermedal at the CommonwealthGames of 2010 that took place in Delhi
Conquered a goldmedal at the CommonwealthWrestlingChampionship of 2011, held in Melbourne

Earned a bronzemedal at the AsianWrestlingChampionships of 2013 that took place in Delhi
She won a goldmedal in the 55 kg wrestling category at the CommonwealthGames 2014 in Glasgow and a silvermedal at the DaveSchultzMemorialTournament which was held in Colorado, USA.
In 2016, Babita represented the nation at the Rio Olympics along with her cousin Vinesh Phogat.
Bagged a silver medal in 53 kg category at the Commonwealth Games of 2018, held in Gold Coast, Australia
The former Indian Track and Field sprinter who clinched India's first individual gold medal in Athletics at the Commonwealth Games and four gold medals at the Asian Games of 1958 and 1962. He has set various records in sprint, crediting numerous medals.
