Yevgeniya Olegovna Kanayeva, born on 2nd April 1990, is a retired individual rhythmic gymnast from Russia. She is famous for her elegant routines, consistency and high level of technical difficulty. She was honoured with the International Fair Play award for “Sport and Life” in 2013.
A glimpse of some of her Achievements:-
- Earned gold medals in the all-around event at 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing and London, respectively.
- Bagged 17 gold medals and a silver medal at the World Rhythmic Championships in a span between 2007 and 2011.
- Won 13 gold medals and a silver medal at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in a span between 2007 and 2011.
- Awarded the “Merited Master of Sports” title in Russia in 2009.
