Wasim Akram

Wasim Akram, born on June 3, 1966, in Lahore, Pakistan, is a cricket icon revered for his extraordinary left-arm fast bowling prowess. Regarded as one of the finest bowlers in the history of the sport, Akram's lethal swing, deceptive pace, and pinpoint accuracy made him a nightmare for batsmen worldwide. His remarkable career boasts numerous records and accolades, including leading Pakistan to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup. • A left arm fast bowler who could bowl with significant pace, and is regarded as the finest player of reverse swing bowling.
• In 1993, he was awarded "Wisden Cricketer of the Year".
• Wasim Akram became the first bowler in ODI cricket to reach 500 wicket marks, and this record was made in the 2003 World Cup.
• He was honored with the “Man of the Match” award 17 times in a test cricket, being the third highest player to have achieved the honor.
• The only player who has made four Hat-tricks: Two hat-tricks in One Day Internationals (against West Indies in Sharjah, 1989 and against Australia in Sharjah, 1990) and Two Hat-tricks in International Test matches (against Sri Lanka in Lahore, 1999 and against Sri Lanka in Dhaka, 1999)
• He was the first bowler after Muttiah Muralitharan to take more than 400 wickets in both One Day International and Test Cricket matches.
• He has been honored as the "Man of the Match" 22 times in One Day International Matches.
