Virender Sehwag

Born on 20th October 1978, in Delhi, Virender Sehwag is a former Indian cricketer who has captained the Indian national cricket team in many major events. Known for his aggressive batting style and off-spin bowling; Sehwag has set numerous records in the history of the cricket.

Some of his achievements:-

• Received the "Arjuna Award" in 2002 by the Government of India
• Twice honored as the "Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World": in 2008 and 2009
• Earned the title of "ICC Test Player of the Year" in 2010
• Honored with the fourth highest Indian civilian award "Padma Shree" in 2010
• First Indian batsman who has scored Test triple centuries
• Second player in the history of Test cricket to score fastest 250 runs in 2009 playing against Sri-Lanka in 207 balls
• The second Indian batsman next to Sachin Tendulkar to hit maiden double century in ODI cricket
• Entitled as "Man of the Series" in ODI cricket played against New Zealand in 2008 and New Zealand and Sri-Lanka in Sri- Lanka Triangular Series, held in 2010
