Tanyu Kiryakov

Tanyu Kiryakov was born on 2nd March 1963. He is a pistol shooter from Bulgaria who represents the country predominantly in 10 m pistol and 50 m pistol events. He is widely considered as one of the all-time best shooters.

Here are some of his career achievements:

• Participated in the 1988 Summer Olympic Games held in Seoul and bagged a gold medal in the 10m air pistol category
• Competed in the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, held in Atlanta and brought home a bronze medal through his immaculate performance in 10 m air pistol event
• Represented Bulgaria at the 2000 Summer Olympics, held in Sydney and bagged a gold medal in the 50 m pistol category
• Stands as the only Bulgarian to have won two gold medals at Summer Olympics
