Sofia Kenin aka Sonya is a professional tennis player from the USA who is the top-ranked American in women's singles. Sofia has won five singles and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as four singles and two doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. She is currently ranked World No. 06 in singles (as of 22 June 2021) and World No. 32 in doubles (as of 22 June 2021) by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). Sofia reached her career-high singles top ranking of world No. 4 on March 9, 2020. Coached primarily by her father, Kenin has grown into a promising junior player, finishing 2nd worldwide after winning the Orange Bowl at age 16 and finishing second in the 2015 US Girls' Singles US Open the following year. Kenin's style of play is based on using a wide variety of shots to upset her opponents. As a more passive junior, Kenin evolved into a more aggressive player as a pro and also improved her consistency, skills that laid the foundation for her rise to the upper echelon of women's tennis.
