Shaun Pollock

Born on 16th July 1973, Shaun Maclean Pollock is a former right-handed batsman who has played for South Africa and is regarded as an all-rounder bowler. His ODI debut was in Cape Town, in a match between South Africa and England, in 1996 and Test Debut was in 1995 at Centurion against England. He has the best economy rate among ODI bowlers with 300 wickets. He, Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram and Muttiah Muralitharan are the only bowlers to have an economy <4 in this category. He has achieved numerous accolades and awards during his active career.

• Pollock captained the South Africa cricket team from 2000 to 2003.
• He was selected as the "Wisden Cricketer of the Year" in 2003.
• He is one of the leading South African cricketers who took 400 test wickets and scored 3700 test runs in 108 test matches.
• Pollock gave stunning performances at the Indian Premier League of 2008 while playing for the Mumbai Indians.
