Born on 8th March 1984 in Wellington, Luteru Ross Poutoa Lote Taylor is a much-publicised cricketer and former captain of New Zealand cricket team. He is a clean striker who has scored 290 runs against Australia in a recent Trans-Tasman Trophy Test series, held in 2015.

- In 2010, during an ODI match against Australia, Taylor gave a vital contribution of 70 runs as a captain in winning the match and was given the title of "Man of the Match"
- In an ODI match of 2007 against Australia, he scored 117 runs. This is the second highest score by a New Zealander in the history of ODI events
- Taylor has won the “Man of the Match” six times for Test events held in between 2012-2016 and ten times for ODI events, held in between 2007-2015
- Till now, he has scored 31 centuries by astoundingly participating in 16 Tests and 15 ODI events
- Taylor is the highest scorer and the first Kiwi batsman who has scored a double century on Australian soil
