Rodney George Laver

Rodney George "Rod" Laver was born on 9^th August 1938. He is a former professional tennis player from Australia. His widely considered as one of the greatest to ever grace the sport.

His Achievements:-

• Won the Australian Open three times in singles in 1960, 1962 and 1969 
• Won the 1962 and 1969 French Open.
• Won the Wimbledon Championships four times in 1961, 1962, 1968 and 1969, held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London.
• Emerged victorious at the U. S. Pro Championship in 1964, 1966 and 1967.
• Won at the 1967 French Pro Championship which was held at Roland Garros, Paris.
• Entitled as the ABC Sportsman of the Year Award in the year 1969.
• Inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1981.
