Pirmin Zurbriggen

Pirmin Zurbriggen was born on 4th February 1963. He is a former ski racer who has represented Switzerland in various International skiing competitions predominantly participating in Downhill and Giant Slalom events. Zurbriggen is one of the most successful ski racers ever as he won the overall World Cup title four times, an Olympic gold medal in 1988 in Downhill, including nine World Championships medals.

Here are some of his career achievements:-

• Two gold medals and one silver medal at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships of 1985, held in Bormio
• Earned two silver medals (in Downhill and combined events) and two gold medals (In Super G and Giant Slalom) in 1987 at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, held in Crans-Montana
• Bagged a bronze and a silver medal in 1989 at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, held in Vail
• Clinched a gold and a bronze medal at the 1988 Winter Olympic Games, held in Calgary
• Became the champion of World Cup four times in 1984, 1987, 1988 and 1990
