Petra Kronberger

Petra Kronberger is a former Austrian alpine skier. She played in all the disciplines of the sport. Petra is the first Austrian to bag gold in all five World Cup events. She is a two-time gold winner of the Olympics Games. She bagged the gold medal in the 1991 world championships held in Saalbach. The skier announced her retirement in 1992.     

Here are some of her career achievements:

• Won gold medal in the downhill event at the World Championship of 1991
• Honoured with the title of “Austrian Sportswoman of the Year" from 1990 – 1992
• The only Austrian to win an Olympic gold medal in the Slalom event in 1992
• Gold medalist in the alpine combined event at Albertville Olympic Games in 1992
