Moses Kiptanui

Born on 1st October 1970, Moses Kiptanui is a middle and long distance athlete who represents Kenya. He is the first man to finish 3000m Steeplechase in less than 8 minutes.

His Achievements:-

• He won gold medals in the 3000m steeplechase at the World Championships in Athletics, held in Tokyo in 1991, Stuttgart in 1993 and Gothenburg in 1995.
• Earned a silver medal at the World Athletics Championships of 1997, held in Athens.
• Clinched a gold medal in the 3000m steeplechase at the IAAF World Cup of 1994, held in London.
• Secured a gold medal at the World Junior Championships of 1990 in the 1500m middle distance event, held in Plovdiv.
• Represented Kenya at the Summer Olympics of 1996, held in Atlanta and won a silver medal in the 3000m steeplechase event.
• Bagged a gold medal in the 3000m steeplechase event at the All-Africa Games, held in Cairo, Egypt in 1991.
• Earned a gold medal in the 5000m event at the 1994 Goodwill Games, held in Russia.
