Mitchell Aaron Starc

Born on 30 January 1990, Mitchell Aaron Starc is an Australian international cricketer who is the current part of the Australian national team. Starc is the left-arm fast bowler and an excellent lower-order left-handed batsman, and with 54 World Cup wickets, he is the joint 5th highest wicket-taker in tournament's history. Mitchell Starc is the elder brother of Brandon Starc, who is an Australian Olympic high jumper athlete.

Here are some of his career achievements:

• An important asset of the victorious Australian squad that won the 2015 Cricket World Cup as he was the leading wicket-taker in 2015 World Cup with 22 wickets and named Man of the Tournament for his consistent performances
• Delivered the fastest recorded delivery of 160.4 km/h in a Test match against New Zealand's Ross Taylor on 15 November 2015
• Surpassed the Andrew Symonds' record of the most sixes at the MCG in an innings as Starc smashed 7 sixes against Pakistan in the 2016 Boxing Day Test
• In an ODI against Sri Lanka in 2016, Starc became the fastest bowler to take over 100 ODI wickets in 52 innings and surpassed the Saqlain Mushtaq's 19-year-old record of taking 100 wickets in 53 innings. Starc remains the fastest bowler to do so.
• Honoured with the Allan Border Medal in 2017 for Best Australian Test bowler in 2016
• Became the 14th Australian cricketer to bag more than 100 wickets and score more than 1000 runs in Test cricket during the 2016–17 Border–Gavaskar Trophy series against India
• In 2019 Cricket World Cup, Starc became the fastest bowler to take 150 ODI wickets in 77 matches. Starc also became the first bowler in the same tournament to take three five-wicket hauls at the Cricket World Cup.
• Starc was the leading wicket-taker in 2019 Cricket World Cup with 27 wickets.
• Nominated for the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Decade award on November 2020
• Took his 250th wicket in Test cricket on December 2020
