Mikaela Shiffrin

Mikaela Pauline Shiffrin, born on 13 March 1995, is an alpine ski racer from the United States. She specializes in the technical events of giant slalom and slalom events. Mikaela is the youngest slalom event champion in the history of Olympic alpine skiing (at 18 years and 345 days).

Here are some of her career achievements:

• Participated in the Winter Olympics of 2018 and clinched a gold medal in giant slalom and silver medal in the combined event. Besides this, she also stood at the fourth position in women's slalom event, held in Pyeongchang. 
• At the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships of the year 2017, Shiffrin earned a gold medal in the slalom and the silver medal in the giant slalom event that took place at St. Moritz.
• Won the gold medal in the slalom event at the 2014 Winter Olympics held in Sochi
• Bagged gold medals in 2013, 2015 and 2017 in slalom and the silver medal in 2017 in giant slalom event at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships
• Earned a bronze medal in slalom at the World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships in 2011
