Michael Fred Phelps II

Born on 30^th June 1985, Michael Phelps is an American former swimmer who is the most adorned Olympic athlete till date. He has earned a total number of 83 medals during his active career by participating in various international events.

A glimpse of his achievements:-

• Phelps is the only swimmer to receive "World Swimmer of the Year" Award for 8 Times.
• Micheal Phelps holds 39 world records in swimming out of which 29 are in the individual event and 10 are in relay events.
• He was honored with the "Best Male Athlete ESPY Award" in 2009.
• Phelps is among those few athletes who have participated in Olympics five times.
• He received the James E. Sullivan Award in 2003.
• He won "FINA Swimmer of the year" award two times in the years 2012 and 2016.
• Honored as the "Sportsman of the Year" in 2008 by a well-known American magazine "Sports Illustrated".
• He was honored with the "USOC Sportsman of the Year" Award four times in the years 2004, 2008, 2011-12 and 2016.
